Scrapmarathon at Woolgoolga High School

Hi everyone!

Well the last scrap marathon for 2008 was held last Saturday at Woolgoolga High School.
Sue Larsen from the P&C of the high school organised an eventful day with around 18 participants coming along to enjoy scrapbooking, cardmaking and a whole heap of festive cheer.

The theme was of course Christmas with it being just around the corner and a few people got dressed up for the occasion in festive clothing! Dizzy Di as she is known took out best dressed, Di had all the trimmings including bells hehe. Congratulations Di pictured here:

There was also a Christmas card competition which was judged by Marco from the local newspaper. Marco had a hard decision, but ended up giving 3 prizes away to the ladies with their beautiful creations pictured below are the winners.

The day started out well already, at 11 am we had a wonderful Christmas demonstration from Dianne Spies from Stampin Up! Dianne made these wonderful little Santa designs that could be used as a table setting or bon bon, just gorgeous and very easy to assemble too. Thanks Di, as these will be a great hit on my table this year also a message for Candy Cane's for them to hang on the tree.

I also got the chance to catch up with Dawn and learnt how to make a gift voucher cover, which is just adorable and another thing I will be using this year, as we give voucher's or gift cards away for Christmas too, so thanks Dawn, I really appreciate your time given. Pictures of all things are as follows:

Santa placement, Gift Card cover and Candy Cane story.

I helped Sue with making some morning tea, after the lady who usually cooks had prior commitments, so I made Caramel Slice, a cinnamon tea cake and truffles for after dinner. Dinner was lovely Thai cuisine dishes with fresh steamed rice (yummy) and went down a treat as well as the truffles.

The day also consisted of Raffles, challenge competitions and a treasure hunt. There was lots of laughter as per usual and I got the chance to catch up with some ladies I hadn't the chance to catch up with before at previous events. I got to sit with 3 new ladies I haven't met before for the day and I must say it was great to meet you all.

Pictured here as follows are Emily, Robyn and Tracy

Thanks for a wonderful day ladies I'm so looking forward to seeing you at the next scrap marathon in Feb/Mar 2009. There was three sections of tables with participants I have tried to take shots of all three tables.
Special thanks to Sue Larsen for all your hard work and dedication for these event days, your truly appreciated.
Hope your all have a wonderful and safe Christmas if I don't see you before then ;)
