October Sketch Challenge

Hi Ladies

Well as part of my on going at home business, I'm holding a monthly sketch challenge! I have posted the display layout on the side bar for all to see and underneath here as well, but if you would like to participate in the challenge I can send it to you via email if you cant get a good look at it, please notify me in the comments area or via email to mailto:scrap.n.art@hotmail.com

The rules for the competition are that you use the sketch as a basic layout and interpret it as you like! e.g. Turn it, mirror it and even make it a double if you wish:) the choice is yours as to how you choose your theme and colours and title.

You have until 5 pm on the 30th of October to send me your layout via email so that I can put it into the slide show area located on the sidebar with all entries entered for the competition and for the voting to take place:) Voting will be done by my guest Spotlight Artist and I will announce the winner in the posting area the following day!!!

There has to be a minimum of 2 entries for the competition to be valid and the Spotlight Artist can not enter the competition for that current month. There is a monthly Scrap.n.art kit up for grabs to the lucky winner and there will be a picture of the goodies shortly:):):) Keep Posted!!!

Well good luck ladies and have fun creating, I will have a slide show area to show the participants entries ASAP. Remember you have to be in it to WIN IT and at the end of the day, who doesn't like receiving FREE STUFF! (Yahoo)

Hugs Angie

I still have a couple of the challenges I would like to have a go at, just need to fit in another 35 hours into my day at the moment to get them completed. Looking forward to the month of October Deb and what you and the girls have installed for us.

The galleries are looking fabulous at each site with all the different interpretations of the challenges and that is what is interesting everyone's diversity is fantastic!!! Thanks for the inspiration girls YOU ALL ROCK!!!!!!

Wanted to Share!

Hi Everyone,

Well I decided this year to enter the "Masters" for Scrapbooking Memories Magazine. You had to complete several tasks to and including a little bio about yourself.

When you enter the Master's they don't allow you to submit any of your work for publication including on websites etc, so now that I know that I haven't been chosen in the top 50 this year I can now share my entries with you all.

Looking at doing next year's tasks as well, I had fun doing this challenge and also extended my capabilities in what I know about scrapbooking:) Thanks for allowing me to share this with you all. The photo's of the items are below:)

Oh by the way the challenges were:

1. Create a single layout, but thinking outside the square. Create something that isn't 12x12 format or square. My design is just a butterfly, the black in the background is a black backdrop not a 12x12 cardstock!

2. Create a layout about your hopes dreams and aspirations.

3. Create a keepsake for someone truly special. I use a sugar cube for my keepsake to my grandfather and I also put a photo in there of the inside of it.

4. Create a 2009 Calendar ~ Kaiser handbag with calendar inserts I created.

5. In details about yourself your journey thru scrapbooking in 200 words or less.

Photo Swap Challenges

Hello!

Just wanted to share two recent photo swaps I completed for two of the Challenge Chics participants Nat Williams and Sharon Dalton.
First one was the layout Soar. A layout dedicated to Nat's daughter Tash and the second layout called Amour dedicated to Sharon and her son Jeff.

I had great pleasure in doing both of these layouts for both ladies and I do hope that they like them. Looking forward to doing more of these along the way as it is great to do something a little different to what I would normally do with using the same old photo's of my everyday life.

Thanks for giving me this opportunity ladies, it is much appreciated:)

Workshop coming along!!!

Hi Ladies

This weekend was a productive one with getting some more things organised in the workshop area at home here! Curtains are now up, cupboards have been made and some order's have been placed!

I completed my business canvas for the workshop area, has not turned out too bad after all! I wanted to share a canvas in the workshop as another way of advertising one of the area's I hope other's will want to explore. A canvas is a great gift idea for those who want something unique and personal.

Looking forward to announcing the day of opening, wont be having a huge party, but will celebrate some how. This has been a long year of preparing and organising and finding the appropriate avenue's to take with regards to council etc etc wont bore you with the details, but am so happy that things are now coming to fruition and seeing the dream I had over 12 months ago coming into reality.

A very special thanks to Nat ~ Creative Chaos for all your hard work Hun in helping me get where I am with my blog, business cards , flyer's etc, your certainly one talented lady Nat and I appreciate everything you have done to help in getting this all up and running. MWAH MWAH

I do hope this reaches you all safe and well and looking forward to chatting to you all real soon:)

Tear Bears Cybercrop Weekend

Hi Ladies

Thought I would share another post regarding the other Cybercrop I participated in over last weekend.

This was for the Tear Bears Cybercrop which ran from the 29th - 31st of August. Thanks Liz (site owner) and Nat (DT MEMBER) who ran the event for the weekend for all their effort in providing a fun and eventful weekend.
My favorite layout would have to have been the one I completed for my Niece "Courtney called ~ Cute Smile", my first attempt I guess at not having too much on a page and just what was required in the task.
There was a fun game challenges too and the one I liked was finding items around your house from the list provided and then taking a photo of it and sending it in. I have placed a photo of the goodies I collected around the house and put them in for display.

Here are my examples of the challenges set in place. TFL:):)

Uproar2Scrapmore Cybercrop Weekend

Hi Ladies

Thought I would let you see what I have been up too!!! This is one of the cybercrop's I participated in over last weekend, was the only thing that made me feel better when I was feeling sick!!

This was for the Uproar2Scrapmore Cybercrop which ran from the 29th - 31st of August. Thanks Delena and the DT girls (Lisa and Kylie) for all their effort in providing a fun and eventful weekend, I had heaps of fun and laughed lots, well as much as I could open my mouth being soooo sore:( The challenges were based around the theme being "fairy tales". My favorite being Dakota's layout called "These cupcakes belong to Gretel" it was a paper piecing activity, which I haven't done in a long time and off course they are freehand cupcakes ladies, not die-cuts:)

Here are my examples of the challenges set in place. TFL:):)
regards Angie

Sorry for the DELAY!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to touch base and apologise for not having everything running to plan as I had wanted it too. I have recently been unwell with Tonsillitis and have not had the chance to get everything up and running, so I DO APOLOGISE! Workshop is coming along well and hopefully will be completed in the next couple of weeks! (YAHOO)

For all you local girls I will be advertising shortly in regards to class times and events:) for those who cant make a class here at the workshop I am going to display my D.I.Y kits available for you to purchase, complete with instructions on how to complete the layouts.

The last couple of months have been hectic for me as I have completed my Masters entry for Scrapbooking Memories and also I have been doing odds and ends with different challenge groups and also my DT position with SSW (ScraptasticSouthWest). Last weekend I completed 2 cybercrops for Uproar to Scrapmore and Tear Bears (TBSS). Both great challenges set in place and I hope to have some layouts up to show you in the posts later:)

I have recently won 1 competition each with both companies, which I am excited about as I haven't won anything in a very long time. I will show those layouts also in another post later.

In regards to my Master's entry, I haven't heard anything back as yet, but will hopefully have some news back on that shortly whether I have been selected or not. This year they are having the field narrowed down to the TOP 50 instead of TOP 100. I would certainly hate to be judging that competition!!!!

Anyhow, just thought I would drop a line and let you know what has happened and why I havent been able to get this off the ground as yet, but sooo looking forward to a great new start with things now that I am feeling a whole heap better then I did this time last week when i went to hospital!

Thanks for taking the time out to read this and look forward to a fruitful relationship here on in:):)
