TCR Palette Challenge # 160 The Sunroom

Good Afternoon

I hope this message finds you safe and well:)

Recently we took ourselves on a lil holiday to the Peninsula region in Queensland and stayed with some friends.  It was a fantastic time away and a great opportunity to look around and head to the beach on one of the days whilst we were there!  I decided to take some candid shots of the kids at the beach and surroundings as I haven't had the camera out for a while now.

Once home and photo's download onto PC I thought to myself that I would get started asap on a layout as my mojo has returned after lying dormant for a while.  I would like to share with you a layout that I completed for 'The Colour Room' challenge website.  The layout is called 'Footsteps in the Sand'.  A page for my daughter Dakota who just loves collecting shells.

The TCR website is great for the palette challenges, because it takes the hard work out of selecting colour themes for your page, but there is an added bonus and that is that they also add a sketch template if you wish to use it too.   The choice is up to you whether you just use the colour palette or add the sketch in too.  I decided to give the sketch a go this time and get as close to the colour palette as possible, I hope I have filled the requirements needed:}.

and my interpretation of the sketch design and colour format:

I look forward to completing some more of these challenges.  The challenge is set every fortnight on a Friday, so if your interested in giving this a go, click on the link here The Colour Room  and it will take you directly to the website.  There is plenty of inspirational artists there to see and view their creative visions.

I look forward to posting some more news soon.  Until then, take care of yourselves and each other;)

Its been a while since my last blog entry

Hello there Followers

As the title reads, Its been a while since my last blog entry and so much has happened.  Whilst I have been busy with work and completing courses along the way for school, I have had little time to get a whole heap of scrapping done, but I will upload a few scrap layouts that I have recently completed and a few that have been published and excepted for SBM (Scrapbooking Memories Magazine).

Its the School holidays here at present and I have been real busy so far with numerous projects, but most of all I'm currently studying to get started and complete my certificate III in Education Support.  I would dearly love to have the last week of the holidays scrapping, so fingers crossed that I am able too.

I have some new inspiring photo's to use, so keep an ye out for those in the upcoming posts along with the layouts:)  I recently spent some time up in the gulf and was able to take some happy snaps of a friends daughter Ari, who was a perfect candidate for some new and inspiring photo's.  The morning sunrises were magical and mind you the afternoon sunsets were just as breathtaking, I will  endeavour to upload a little later on.

Life is treating us well here in the north and I cant believe another year is almost to an end, but never mind, life is good and I am enjoying the ride so to speak!!

I have had two publications this year so far and another two are being published before the end of the year, I cant yet show them until after publication on my blog , so remember to pop by again to see them, unless you purchase the SBM magazine.  Another layout has just been excepted for perusal this week, so fingers crossed on that one being also published.

The first layout that I had published this year was called 'Bomb Dive', a layout of my son Curtis doing his best impression of a bomb dive whilst we were on holidays at Mission Beach.   It is a digital layout using the Heroic digital Kit from Traci Reed.

BOMD DIVE

The second layout that was published was an entry that I had completed for a sketch challenge on the Scrap Therapy website here in Far North Queensland .  I always love a good challenge and especially a sketch created from the wonderful DT member Mandy. I used a masking template for the cogs using Mod Podge and then detailing this with a memories mist spray.   Here is the layout called 'Growing Fast'.

GROWING FAST
The other layouts to look for in the upcoming months in the SBM Magazine are as follows:

1. 'A Simple Man' ~ Vol 16 No. 3 (on sale 10 October 2013), my first ever double layout (digi)
2. 'Moto mad, just like her Dad' ~ Vol 16 No. 5 (on sale 05 December 2013)
3. 'Buddy Boy' ~ Yet to be advised about publication date.

Well that is it for the publications side of things at present, I have completed other layouts through out this year and some I yet haven't put up on my blog, so keep posted for more layouts and details to come.

I hope this post reaches you all safe and well and I look forward to posting again soon.  Until then take care of yourselves and each other:)

I Won ~ June Sketch Challenge at Scrap Therapy :):)

Good Morning to you All:)

Recently I participated in the Scrap Therapy June sketch challenge.  I am always up for a sketch challenge, they are a great way of experimenting with how you can interpret someone else's brilliant design and I love the way other people interpret them also, after all we are all different and that's a good thing otherwise the world would be a boring place.

I awoken this morning with fresh eye's and a keen sense of making my holiday time worthwhile to see if the new sketch was up for July.  Whilst looking  through the blog I noticed that the winner had been announced for June and to my surprise it was me:):)  I certainly was taken by this after seeing the wonderful creations the other scrap ladies had produced.  So I thought I would share the sketch template my layout for you to see, so here is as follows:

If you would like to take part in this month's challenge and be in the running to win the $50 prize, follow the link  http://www.scraptherapy.com.au/  to the Scrap Therapy and have a look at what the talented DT Member (Mandy) has whipped up for the month of July.  I look forward to the next challenge set.

Scrapbooking Memories Blog Challenge with Stampin Up'

Good Afternoon All

My apologies for being a slack blogger, but I just haven't had time to scratch myself recently with all that has been happening.  Firstly Id like to say Yahoo its the school holidays here in Queensland, some much needed down time for me and a whole heap of scrapping to be done, cant wait!!!!!

Id like to share some exiting news with you all, recently I was asked by the editor of SBM (Scrapbooking Memories) to participate in a Blog Challenge for them.  The challenge consisted of being able to use the new and exciting digital programme from Stampin Up'.  I thought to myself for sure, anything is worth a try and I'm always up for a challenge!

So  I downloaded the digi programme and got straight to work.  I was able to choose a beautiful digi kit called "Attic Boutique", a lovely package full of digi goodness.  The challenge was to create a layout using their programme most of all the kit was an added bonus:)

The MDS Software is similar to suite packages, but a whole heap easier to use.  After being an avid Adobe girl I thought nothing could compare, but I was mistaken!  Anyhow I wont ramble on too much because you can pop over to the SBM Blog to check it out for yourself.

Here is the link - http://www.scrapbookingmemories.com.au/

If your interested in the details of how to obtain the Stampin Up'  MDS programme the details can be found on the Scrapbooking Memories Blog article and follow the link on the bottom of the feature.

What I love the most about the digi programme is the range of punches and stamps you can use as a digi element.  I myself love their range of products, so I can honestly say its so worth the programme alone for those who like completing hybrid layouts, just one of the advantages.

There are also some Stampin Up'  MDS events being held in your nearest capital city, so don't hesitate to book in.  I only wish I was a little closer to attend and meet the lovely Sophie whom I have been in contact with over the recent weeks.

Below is my layout that was created using the programme its called:

 Infinity and Beyond

Thank you for popping by to look at what's happening in the world I call 'Scrap.n.Art' :)
