School holidays and scrap news

Good Evening All

Well finally the school holidays are here in Queensland and I have two weeks off :):):)  Its been a busy term at school and this break will see me sitting in my jim jams and sleeping in for the first week I'm sure (yeah right).  Kids are totally exhausted and also need this break to re-charge the batteries and spend some time outside enjoying the sunshine, well fingers crossed as we have had some rain of late and they have been climbing the walls here at home.

The latest magazine from Scrapbooking Memories has come out and yes another publication of mine is in there called 'Butterfly Kisses'.  Its under the section of Shapes, a layout I had designed myself for a friends sister for her wedding day!  Below you will find Current Issue Cover and my layout on page 46.

Along with this layout I had a small secret to hold to myself til it was published, it being that Scrapbooking Memories had contacted me earlier in 2012, to see if I was interested in doing a paper craft company Product Challenge :):)  How could I resist, so I said yes and felt very honored.

The challenge was to create a layout and card with the goods that had been supplied.   I received a delightful parcel of goodies and was automatically very excited when I opened it.  So I can now reveal what I have been keeping under wraps, because I was not allowed to publish anything until it had been published in the magazine first!

My layout is called 'Our Performer' a layout of my darling girl doing her normal thing of performing and just being photogenic as per normal. LOL   I have only made a small amount of cards since I started scrapping, but I am pretty chuffed with the outcome of the one I created, mainly because the transparency films I had been given to work with they are awesome...  So without going on and on, here below are my creations using the Glitz products from Kays Company;)

ITs the weekend :):):)

Happy Saturday Followers

Wow!  The weekends are coming around fast at the moment, well for me anyhow!!!  How are you all?  Well just wanted to touch base and say hello and update on a couple of things this weekend that's going on in the world of Scrap.n.Art.

Another exciting email from SBM to say I have another layout being accepted, I just love getting those happy emails especially on a Friday afternoon:):)  Hoping to get my teeth stuck into some scrapping this weekend, well fingers crossed anyhow.

A busy week at work, never mind made it go quick and now time for some much needed RNR;).  In the process of finishing off my selection criteria for my job, Ive gone all out and put some creativity in there, just to show them what I'm capable off, well I  cant resist I love the fact that it is going to draw their eye's to my application. lol

Anyhow, got a couple of layouts to share with you today and will fill you in some more on the weekends progress of layouts I hope to accomplish.

This layout I finished is of a family friend's daughter Rae-Ellen, she is just such a beautiful performer (just like her mum).  Whilst on holidays a year ago in Cairns the 'Dance Connection Studio'  were holding their annual end of year spectacular.  I decided to go along and take some photo's for Marie and the girls and was just in awe of the wonderful talent these lovely ladies hold.  So I decided to call the layout 'Show Time'.  This photo taken at a Dress Rehearsal and how I captured it was perfect for the theme.

Layout ~ Show Time

Im a Biast mum though and have to admit the last photo here of my darling little Dakota is just adorable and well captured in the natural light of the room.  One day she too hopes to be on stage, although I would have to say, she is already my front row centre;)

Another layout I recently finished is a digital one using another photo taken of on that day and all I called it 'She believes in Magic'.  A whimsical page which seem to suit the photo and another gorgeous kit by the lovely and talented Sara Belmont from Sweet Blossom Designs here in Australia.  Sara's kits can be found at My Memories digi store.  So without rambling on even more here is the layout.

Well I hope you enjoyed you visit to SNA ~ Scrap.n.Art, I hope to have some more news soon for you all, but until then... Take care of yourselves and each other;)

Grab a cuppa and let me fill you in.....

Happy Sunday

Good morning to all those who follow my blog or just popping in to see what I have been up too.  I must apologise for being so slack of late, between the role of Mother, Teacher Aide  etc etc life is just busy busy busy.  Its been a while since my last post, but I'm hopefully getting back on top of things and ready to sink my teeth into some more creativity and blogging (fingers crossed) anyhow.

Well my job is going lovely and I adore my fellow workers.  I cant believe we are into March already, boy where does the time go????  Anyhow am in the process of applying for a full time position at present as I am only on contract for the moment, so wish me luck!!!

I have a couple of things to update on the scrapping side of life.  This week seen my second layout published for the year in Scrapbooking Memories Mag Vol 14 No. 5.    My layout is called 'Smile'.  A digital layout that I had done for my kids and partner a while back when we were at Coffs Harbour on a sort visit.  Its been placed into the quote section of the mag and the details are as follows:

Layout: Smile

Magazine Cover and Page:

So that was a good ending to the end of last week 'I must say'.  The weekend is almost over, but yesterday was a great day for getting stuck into the dreaded housework and making home feel like home again.  I do hate having clutter all over the place and with recent events my house felt like it was controlling me not the other way round.  :):)

I decided to give the TCR (The Colour Room) challenge site a visit last weekend and have a go at a couple of the challenges that were recent Palettes  No 97 and Palette No 98.  These palettes are just gorgeous and I couldn't resist and to be honest what better way to get back into the swing of things creative wise then to get some creative mojo from TCR ladies.  So here are my examples from the Palettes.

Anyhow I hope you enjoyed your visit:)  I wont ramble on any further, but I do hope you drop by again soon.  I will hopefully have some more news to share after today's creative exercises and some more goss on the world I call Scrap.n.Art;)

Until then, take care of yourselves and each other.
