October Sketch Challenge

Good Morning Ladies

Below you will find the Sketch design for October 2009 and also my take on the sketch as a preview and prize pack.

The September Sketch Design

My Interpretation of the Sketch Design

Prize Pack

Credits to Sweet Blossom Designs for the digital elements used and also Kaiser Craft for their brushes that have been used.

How you interpret the sketch is initially up to you. You can choose what ever Papers, Embellishments and Theme you like. All I ask is that you follow the sketch and keep in mind the original outlay of it all.

You may choose to mirror it, flip it, turn it on its side or even make it a double. The list of possibilities are endless, so go forth and create.

Submission & Cut off time:

Please submit your entries onto the new ning site for Scrap.n.Art in the album provided (October Sketch Challenge) or to my email address scrap.n.art@hotmail.com by the 30th of October 2009, this will allow ample time for the judging to take place in the slide show area and the winner will be announced on the 31st of October 2009.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING SUBMISSIONS TO MAGAZINES or WEBSITES:
Something has come to mind recently in regards to Submissions for either magazines or web based sites. I love the thought that you use my sketch challenges as inspiration and that you participate, but requirements for submitting layouts to magazines require that you use original based layouts of your own.
I have no problems with you using my sketches to submit as I have had a couple of ladies recently now submit there entries into different magazines and they have been accepted, which is terrific, but I hate being the bearer of bad news and that is that if you are going to submit your layouts that have been produced by you, but the sketch being by me the original creator, could you please give credit where credit is due, by stating this a S.N.A. Sketch Designs by Angela Bailey.

I too use digital elements from digital scrappers and it MUST be noted on any submission either web based or magazine submission that you credit the original creator of such elements, sketches or etc. I hope this doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouths, but fair is fair and I know I would do the same for you if it was the other way around.Thank you for your time and for participating.

Keep up the great work ladies and I look forward to seeing your sketch creations.

Kind regards Angie xox

Centre Stage Artist in the Spotlight ~ Sara Belmont

Good Morning Ladies

I have a wonderful opportunity every month of showcasing some of the talented Scrap artist around Australia and over sea's and this month I bring you another Spotlight Artist.

Please welcome.............................................Artist in the SPOTLIGHT
Sara Belmont

Sara Belmonts layout is called "Having Fun"

Biography:

My name is Sara Belmont-Kleingeld and I’m an Aussie like Angie (just waaaay over the other side of the country from her). I have a wonderful, supportive hubby and together we have two high-energy kids, 4 ½ & 2 years old, that keep us on our toes!

I started scrapping about 5 years ago and was initially a paper scrapper. I still have a room bursting at the seams with papers and other scrapping paraphernalia. I swear one day I’ll get back to it! Anyhow, about 12 months ago I decided to have a go at this thing called ‘digital scrapping’… and NEVER looked back! Less than two months later Vicki (A Work In Progress) was kind enough to give me a position on her Creative Team. Little did she know what she was getting herself in for! I didn’t take long to convince her to let me have a go at designing and she even allowed me to create add-ons to her kits. About six months later I started selling under my ‘Sweet Blossom Designs’ name at the Eidou store. I was then offered an opportunity too good to pass up – opening up my own store in partnership with Vicki (A Work In Progress), Stacey (Stacey’s Scraps) and Mel (Mel’s Lightbulb Moments)… thus the Scrap That Idea store was born.

I find it hard to describe my style… I like to think I’ll have a go at anything. I definitely go through phases… there was a while where every page had to have stitching or staples. Then it changed to plants/leaves and flowers. I used to build the ‘perfect’ layout by grabbing bits & pieces from lots of different kits. I find now I tend to keep it much simpler and just stick to the elements and papers in a single kit. I suppose the only thing that hasn’t changed much is a preference for layouts with a lot of white space.

Unfortunately, owning your own store comes with the impossible task of designing, scrapping, order tracking, CTing, etc. So I no longer have much time for scrapping for the fun of it. As a consequence, I rarely get the chance to participate in challenges and other fun things. Maybe a lesson in time management is needed!

You can see some of my layouts on my blog: http://sweetblossomdesigns.blogspot.com/

You can also find my kits for sale at the Scrap That Idea store: http://www.scrapthatidea.com/store/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId=15

What a busy couple of weeks its been!

Hey there!

Wow! Firstly apologies for not being around, its been a mad house here at the moment! School things, scrap marathons, visitors etc etc etc.

Over the weekend I went to the Woopi (Woolgoolga) Scrap marathon held at the high school. I also got the chance to scrap with my dear friend Cindy for 13 hours, yes plenty of time without any interruptions, was great!!!
I got 2 layouts completed, but I can only share one at the present time, cause the other is for a GDT position at the Journaling Junkie, so keep your eyes peeled for that to come after the 1st of October!!!!
The layout I can show you is for the Ready, Set, Scrap team for one of their monthly challenges. The layout is called "Love You" its for the Number challenge:)

The Journaling reads: I just adore when you two are getting along seemingly well. You show each other Love and Affection, you pick each other up when either of you are down. Your favorite saying Curtis is, I love you more than all the Sand in the Ocean and Animals on earth. TOO CUTE!!!

At the Scrap marathon their was raffles and make and takes. Pam from Stamp'n Up was there and she demonstrated how to create a cute little Gift bag out of a C5 envelope, great ideas for those Christmas goodies that I need to prepare shortly and also a gorgeous little birthday card. I also won a lovely bottle of RED for myself for my gift bag, thanks heaps ladies for voting for me!!!!
See my samples below

On another note, the major prize for the day was 2 Adult tickets to Ian Moss and Wes Carr! and guess who won????? ME!!!!!!! I'm so excited, so I asked my buddy Cindy to come along with me, we are going to make it our GIRLS NIGHT OUT!!!! Cant wait to sing along , I'm just hoping Ian Moss takes me back to the 80's with "Tuckers Daughter"!!!lol Ill try to get some pics when the event happens which is the 30th of October.

Im certainly on a high today, with getting the chance to finally meet my Cousin Rachael for the very first time. Its been a long time in the waiting, but it finally happened. Rach spent the weekend up at my mum's on the Gold Coast getting to know all the other relo's including meeting her 2 half brothers Joel and Rhys. She is a beautiful young lady and I look forward to spending more time with her now and getting to know her better! Sorry for the picture quality, it was 9 at night and we where both buggered!!!!

Apart from all of that, I have been busy with Challenges for the month of September and also completing my ATC's for the Challenge Chics from our retreat in August. I look forward to catching up with you all real soon, until then take care of yourselves and each other!

another layout completed for RSS!

Good Morning

Just wanted to share a layout I completed last night for Ready, Set, Scrap. The challenge was to create a layout using Ivory (White) with Green and Tan (neutral), round corners, buttons, beads and a stitched border.

When I was up at the Retreat for the Challenge Chics, I met the beautiful Kirrily Dalton (shaz's daughter). Kirrily and I share the same birthday together, so there is no chance of ever forgetting this young lady now! She is certainly one of a kind and am glad to call her my friend.

Here is my take on the challenge, thanks for looking:)

Playing with Digi and challenge for RSS!

Good Afternoon Ladies!

I sat here last night thinking to myself,OH I just couldn't be bothered to pull out everything to scrap, so I put my creative powers into play with digi instead!

This is my take for the Ready, Set, Scrap Negative Challenge for September. You have to base your layout about yourself and a title of a song! My layout is called "Born to be Wild", LOL I know, I sometimes can get a little crazy and do things spontaneous, but I thought the title suited the photo really.

Credits to Sara Balmont from Sweet Blossom Designs for the wonderful digi kit and elements, IT ROCKS SARA!!!!! THANKS

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend, whatever your planning.
